Trump proposes a 100% tariff on movies filmed outside the U.S., aiming to compel studios that have relocated to countries like Canada, the UK, and Australia to either return production to America or face higher costs. This move could increase the production expenses of popular films and potentially create jobs for American crews that have been disadvantaged by foreign subsidies.

Robert Allison stepped into Shark Tank with Lifebelt, a device that stopped cars from starting unless everyone was buckled up. He asked for $500,000 for 10% equity, but when the Sharks offered to buy the patent outright, he refused—he didn’t want to give up ownership.
The pitch didn’t close a deal, and while he secured some early interest and even a dealership partnership, Lifebelt eventually shut down. A reminder that holding on too tightly to vision and ownership can be just as risky as letting go.

The Netherlands, primarily below sea level, survives due to advanced engineering solutions, including storm barriers, dikes, and intricate canal systems that prevent flooding even as sea levels rise. This innovative infrastructure transforms a potential disaster into a model of survival, demonstrating that significant opportunities can arise in seemingly inhospitable environments.

In a video on his Instagram account, Adam Mosseri made it clear that Instagram does not listen to people’s conversations through their phone microphones.
He said, “We do not listen to you. We do not use the phone’s microphone to eavesdrop on you.” Mosseri explained that Instagram ads feel accurate because of the data people share online, their activity across websites, and information from advertisers—not because of audio spying. He added that sometimes ads may seem linked to recent conversations due to coincidence or memory, but there is no secret listening involved.
The whole thing remined me of this scene from “Succession” so posted.
Buried deep in the oceans lies an estimated $900 trillion worth of gold…more wealth than the entire global economy many times over. But there’s a catch: the gold isn’t sitting in shiny bars or nuggets waiting to be scooped up. Instead, it’s dissolved in seawater, dispersed in such tiny concentrations (roughly a few parts per trillion) that extracting it would cost far more than the metal itself is worth. The technology required to filter trillions of gallons of water for microscopic flakes would demand astronomical amounts of energy and money.
The U.S. government has shut down due to Congress's failure to pass a budget, affecting 750,000 federal workers who are now furloughed without pay. This shutdown is costing taxpayers approximately $400 million per day through delayed wages and lost productivity. While essential services like military operations and air traffic control continue, national parks, passport offices, and regulatory agencies are closed. The predicted duration of the shutdown is two weeks, amid ongoing blame between political parties and concerns from federal employees about financial obligations.

Do the right things at the top line and the bottom line will follow. Steve Jobs knew this—but first, he handpicked the right people who could bring his vision to life.
